letterWe decided to make the bold move of starting Archco Developments in 2007. A bold move indeed as this was when the property market (along with the rest of the economy) took a turn for the worst. When many others where avoiding this industry we decided it was a good time to start buying run down properties, most of which from auction.

Fortunately, this worked out well for us, and helped us build the skilled and reliable team of trades people that we still use today. In 2009 we decided it was time to take the next step and start looking for plots of land that we thought had development potential for new build residential properties.

We quickly found here at Archco that this proved to be our speciality. With our trained eye, knowledge and research capabilities, and the many industry contacts we now have, acquiring land, achieving planning and going on to build high quality homes is our forte. We are still active in the renovation of period properties as this is a real passion of ours, and in a country with as much heritage as England these need to be preserved. However, we have now pushed Archco even further into the realms of property development embarking on developments of apartments, commercial units, and social housing, all of which we feel are crucial elements in the development and growth of our company, and what is needed to help boost the economy.

Our efforts in this area where recognised in the 2015 inaugural edition of the Fortuna 50 published by the financial Times.This index represents the UK’s fastest growing female-led small business’s.

We were proud to make it to number 2 on this list, and even prouder when we reached number 1 in the 2016 edition. We then went on to receive a letter from the Prime Minister, David Cameron, congratulating us on our success. It was wonderful to be recognised, and this only encourages us further to keep growing our business, and to keep providing unique and inspiring new developments.

Meet the team

Siobhan Cook

Founder & Director

Siobhan founded Archco Developments in
2009 after a career on the trading floor. Born out of her love for all aspects of design and property, the business began in property renovation in up-and-coming areas and soon developed into a much broader offer. Siobhan’s skill lies in designing schemes from scratch and taking them right through to completion. She prides herself on a hands-on and personal approach, managing all acquisitions and project management as well as relationships with clients, contractors, and partners alike. Seeing the vision come to life and passing on that (potentially) once in a lifetime dream purchase to the new homeowners gives her immense joy.

John Roberts  

Construction Manager

John joined the team in 2012 bringing 25 years of construction knowledge and experience. His vast knowledge has empowered our end-to-end approach, giving us the ability to manage all aspects of the build process and have control over the complex and often challenging nature of the building industry. A natural problem solver, John will always find a way to achieve the unachievable. Never defeated and always available to make sure our schemes are delivered to the highest standard with the utmost care.

Hayley Phillips

Interiors Director & Accounts

Hayley joined the Archco team in 2017
having spent her working career in the City as an EA managing large teams within banks and hedge funds. Hayley brings an organised and professional dimension to Archco and quickly took management of Archco accounting. Hayley also took a lead role in the expansion of our interiors arm and built this through the difficult Covid lockdowns. Hayley is an integral part of the Archco family and can be trusted to wear many hats.

Karen Fraser

Property Maintenance Manager

Karen joined Archco soon after the company was set up in 2011, leading the management of our property portfolio. Hands-on in approach, she handles all aspects of our property maintenance, carrying out regulation inspections, assuring the wider business as well as tenants, leaseholders and purchasers that all is being kept in good order. Karen is adept at managing strong long term relationships with trades,  always on hand to handle any issues.

Sonny Roberts

Site Manager

Sonny also joined us in 2012 and has grown with our business from site Labourer to site manager, becoming a vital cog within the Archco machine. He manages all things site related, from health and safety to sub contractors. A shining example of everything we stand for as a business, Sonny is loyal, hard working and knows his job inside out – our sites are in safe hands.

Brooke Fraser 

Office Manager & Assistant Project Manager

Brooke is a new member of the Archco family. Joining in 2022, she has quickly earned the reputation of a bright star within the team. Bringing a helpful, professional and positive attitude, she manages all aspects of the day-to-day running of the office and responds to new enquiries. Brooke is on hand to support the Archco team in many different capacities putting her project management and people skills to good use across all areas of the business.

Helen Fox  

Interiors & Retail Manager

Helen joined the business in 2020, helping to expand our interiors business beyond our own developments. She manages all aspects of the day-to-day running of our interiors and styling arm of Archco as well as handling marketing and social media for this side of the business. A natural when it comes to managing relationships, Helen is patient and knowledgeable, always prepared to go above and beyond to provide creative vision and support clients at every step.

Sarah Chambers 

Retail Assistant

Sarah is another new member of our team, starting in 2022. She is naturally warm and approachable, making sure clients feel comfortable and at home. Our Retail team is here to make sure that buying and styling your home is a positive and enjoyable experience and Sarah is a shining example of our commitment to customer service. 

 

Archco in the Community

We care about the communities that we work in, and we are always striving to enhance not only the lives of the people buying from us, but also the lives of the people surrounding our developments. We work alongside community institutes like, churches and schools to enable them to maximus the development protentional of their sites. This in turn helps to provide them with the much needed funds that they require to enhance and add to their facilities. This is an area of our business takes much focus and dedication from our team, and an area that we would like to grow to enable us to help more communities in this way.

Land acquisition

Archco are actively seeking new sites, predominantly across Essex, London, Kent and parts of Surrey and Middlesex. We have a flexible approach to procurement and we encourage agents and members of the public alike to contact us with potential development locations.
